God in His essence is a relational Being. So, it’s no surprise then that one of the unique aspects of the life of the disciple of Jesus Christ which we find in Acts 2:42 is fellowship. There is a bond that exists between disciples that is unlike anything else in the world.

If you and I are truly disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, then it is absolutely necessary that we tell the Good News to others. If you really believe, and if Christ has truly saved you and changed your life, then there is no way you can keep it to yourself.

Jesus’ last words before He ascended should be our first priority! He said we would be witnesses of Him to the ends of the earth.We can’t do this in our own strength, so He promised divine Presence and assistance through the Holy Spirit. He also said that as we are going from place to place spreading the Good News to make disciples unto Him from all nations.

We call Jesus' statement in Matthew 28:18-20, The Great Commission. It is the mission He has given us in this world. It is the main thing! May His final words here on earth be our first work!

Jesus challenges us to re-examine our priorities. Priorities involve commitment, and each of the three men in this text display faulty commitments when it comes to following Jesus because each has implied limits.

Jesus gives us an invitation to salvation, but it is also an invitation to follow Him.That’s what it means to be a disciple. The word translated “disciple” literally means a student, a learner, a follower. It is someone who is "all in."

What does it mean to be set free from the law of sin and death? This is what real freedom looks like!

These are sacrifices that please God. This is better than anything that was ever presented at the tabernacle altar. 

Our God, who is a consuming fire (v. 29), wants to burn out all the impurities and weaknesses from our lives. He wants to purify us and make our faith like steel that will not bend, break, or lose its strength when it goes through the fires of life.He will also go before us as that all-consuming, protective fire.

The writer of Hebrews likens living the life of faith in Jesus to a race. He gives us encouragement, instruction, and strategy to run the race set before us.
